A cocktail salon of mirrored walls, jade velvet and low golden light. Classic drinks, made slowly and served at the table, with a band on the stage four nights a week.

Four house drinks, each built around one spirit and one idea.

  • The Lantern

    Gin, pear eau de vie, lemon and a drop of honey, served up in a coupe.

  • Velvet Hour

    Aged rum, sweet vermouth and cacao, stirred long and poured over one clear cube.

    Green tea vodka, cucumber, elderflower and a whisper of sea salt.

    Rye, black cherry and orange bitters, finished with a flamed peel.

Evenings at the Lantern

Doors at seven. The stage lights come up at nine.

  1. Thursday

    The Quiet Quartet

    Piano, double bass, brushes and a muted horn from nine until late.

  2. Friday

    Swing in the Salon

    The floor is cleared at ten. A short lesson first, then the band takes over.

  3. Saturday

    The Gold Room

    Dress up, sit down, and let the bartenders choose your evening for you.

Down the brass stairs at 12 Lantern Row, beneath the sign of the golden lamp. Tables are held for fifteen minutes; the bar is always first come, first served.
